Dabangg a Hit in Pakistan

The footfalls at Pakistani cinema halls went down when Indian movies were banned during the Eid period, but Salman Khan's hit film, Dabangg, has got moviegoers in Pakistan thronging the theatres yet again.

According to a booking clerk at Cinestar Cinema of Lahore, says, Dabangg witnessed more than 70% audience in its every show while other movies such as ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai’, ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ and ‘Housefull’ and more also fared well in the Pakistan box office.

According to theatres owners, a big reason for the success of Salman Khan's Dabangg is that the Pakistani film industry produces only a few low budget movies every year. The owner of the Gulistan cinema hall, Arif Khan says, hardly 8 - 10 movies have been produced during 2010, while 25 - 30 peoples have released during the intervening period.
